A commanding performance portrait in which a vivid scarlet collar and sharply tailored stage costume emerge from deep blackness. The microphone, guitar and extended gesture capture Prince at the point where elegance, control and raw musical electricity meet.

There are performers who step beneath a spotlight, and there are those who seem to create their own. Here, Prince appears from the darkness in a flash of scarlet, conducting the room with an outstretched hand while guitar and microphone wait upon his command. It is a moment of absolute authority, but also of intimacy—the audience witnessing an artist completely at home inside the world he created.
